Holding On to Hope in Haiti

1. A Sudden Change

On April 14, armed gangs entered the village of Seguin, where Hope for Kids Haiti has served for many years. Almost overnight, families fled their homes, leaving behind their belongings, livelihoods, and any sense of normal life. Since then, our ministry has shifted from planning programs to responding to an unfolding humanitarian crisis.

2. Schooling Success

We have great news . . . even though children we support for education were initially displaced by the violence, schools re-opened and offered flexible classes. The school directors were creative and found a way to help most kids catch up by organising assessments and providing needed support so they could complete their years' work.

We are truly grateful to God for this achievement.

3. Responding Together

Because of your prayers and generosity, Hope for Kids Haiti has provided emergency food assistance to 79 families. Through grocery distributions and prepared meals, families have received practical help during an incredibly difficult season. Thank you for helping bring both hope and nourishment to those who need it most.

4. Difficult Decision

One of the hardest decisions we've made this year was to cancel our annual summer camp. After much prayer and listening to the concerns of parents, we concluded it simply wasn't safe for children to travel while armed gangs continue to operate throughout the region. We were deeply disappointed, but we believe caring for the safety of every child must come first.

4. For open doors to safely hold a Christmas celebration this December and a summer camp next year.
